I have been in clinical practice for over 30 years and am considered a master clinician by my colleagues. I have had over 50,000 hours of clinical service and have treated a myriad of psychological and psychiatric presentations. I also ran an outpatient psychotherapy group practice with 18 clinicians. My areas of specialization are anxiety and depression, mind-body interface and insight oriented exploratory therapy. I am very human in my approach and believe my job is to understand your issues from a holistic approach taking into consideration all factors which may be impacting your life.
Together we will come to understand what has gotten in your way and how you may learn to understand, accept and move beyond your current level of functioning to a higher level of contentment.
Having worked with the medical field as a Medical Psychologist, I have treated most disorders where there is an interaction between mind and body. This can take place in either direction. Whether it is your psychological dysfunction is manifesting in a physical format, e.g. headaches, GI distress, cardiac dysregulation or if your physical reality, cancer for example is impacting your ability to carry on with your life.
Through my consultation-liaison experience I am able to advocate with my patient’s physicians and care provider to produce the best possible outcome. So often, the individual is not receiving the best care because they are unable to successfully articulate what is happening to them.
